Donald Trump reacted angrily on Saturday after a court decision kept his felony conviction in place. The ruling also confirmed that there would be a sentencing hearing next week for his hush money conviction. Trump was livid, posting two fiery rants on his Truth Social account, attacking both his legal problems and special counsel Jack Smith.

In his first post, Trump insisted that he had “never falsified business records” and accused the judge, Juan Merchan, of being “corrupt.” He claimed the charges against him were made up by the “Biden/Harris Injustice Department” to attack him, and he argued there was no case against him at all. He also complained about the “gag order” that prevents him from talking publicly about the case, which he said was a sign of how biased the judge was.

Trump wrote, “I never falsified business records. It is a fake, made up charge by a corrupt judge who is just doing the work of the Biden/Harris Injustice Department, an attack on their political opponent, ME! He created a case where there was none. Keeps a ‘gag order’ on me so that I can’t talk about how crooked he is. The Fake News knows all about it, but they refuse to talk. He may be the most conflicted judge in New York State history.”

He continued by criticizing the legal expenses in question, saying they were properly accounted for. He also lashed out at the New York court system, saying people and businesses were leaving the state because of “corruption.” Trump also took shots at other cases in New York, including the Mar-a-Lago property valuation, calling the judge in that case “crooked” and “out of control.”

In his second post, Trump took aim at the judges and prosecutors handling his cases, particularly special counsel Jack Smith. He claimed he was being treated worse than any president in history and that the justice system was being misused to go after him for political reasons. He also repeated his belief that Smith was illegally appointed and that his Mar-a-Lago raid was “one of the ‘dirtiest tricks’ ever.”

Trump wrote: “There has never been a President who was so evilly and illegally treated as I. Corrupt Democrat judges and prosecutors have gone against a political opponent of a President, ME, at levels of injustice never seen before. Corrupt judges, or judges so blinded by their hatred of me and my political ideology to ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,’ are making a mockery of the United States Judicial System, and the World is watching in disgust. Deranged Jack Smith, the evil and sinister prosecutor appointed by Crooked Joe Biden to ‘take me down,’ was found to be illegally appointed by a CORRUPT DOJ and FBI, and all of his many charges against me were dropped or dismissed.”

Trump’s sentencing hearing is set for January 10, 2024. This comes nearly a year after he was found guilty of falsifying business records, a charge stemming from his involvement in hush money payments during the 2016 election.
