After months of promising peace was just around the corner, Trump is now threatening Iran, declaring total victory, and posting “Praise be to Allah!” as the conflict continues to spiral.
Donald Trump has been telling Americans that peace with Iran was imminent. A deal was close. Then it was very close. Then it was only days away. Then it could supposedly happen in “one hour.”
Now? Missiles are flying, drones are being launched, military strikes are escalating, and Trump appears to be having a full-blown social media meltdown about it.
Early Wednesday morning, the 79-year-old president unleashed a series of Truth Social posts that read less like carefully crafted presidential statements and more like someone desperately trying to convince everyone—including himself—that everything is going according to plan.
It wasn’t. In one post, Trump declared that Iran’s military had been completely defeated.
Not weakened. Not degraded. Completely defeated.
“Iran’s Military is a complete and total mess,” Trump wrote. “The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD!!!”
He then warned that Iran would now have to “pay the price” for failing to accept a peace deal.
That’s an interesting message coming from a president who has spent months insisting a peace deal was practically finished.
Because if the deal was supposedly so close, why are both sides still exchanging fire?
Why are American forces carrying out strikes? Why are Iranian missiles and drones still being launched? And why does the conflict appear to be escalating rather than ending?
Those are questions Trump seems increasingly unable to answer.
Instead, he has turned to a familiar strategy: declare victory and hope reality catches up later.
The strangest moment came in a follow-up post where Trump boasted about the effectiveness of the U.S. naval blockade and claimed Iran was rapidly becoming a failed state.
Then, for reasons known only to him, he ended the post with: “Lots of oil is getting out. Praise be to Allah!”

Yes. The President of the United States once again signed off a rant about Iran by writing “Praise be to Allah.”
This isn’t even the first time. Trump previously inserted the same phrase into another social media tirade directed at Iran, leaving observers scratching their heads about what exactly he was trying to communicate.
At this point, nobody seems entirely sure.
What is becoming increasingly clear, however, is that Trump’s promises about ending the conflict have not aged well.
According to analysis cited by CNN, Trump has claimed dozens of times since the spring that a peace agreement was imminent.
He repeatedly suggested Iran was on the verge of accepting a deal. He repeatedly suggested the fighting would soon end.
Yet here we are.
