Back in 2018, Donald Trump was interviewed by veteran journalist Lesley Stahl of the CBS program “60 Minutes.” She was curious and asked, why does he continue to attack the media even after he won the presidency.
Speaking to an audience along with PBS NewsHour host Judy Woodruff, Stahl recalled her interview with Trump.
“At one point, he started to attack the press,” Stahl said. “There were no cameras in there.”
“I said, ‘You know, this is getting tired. Why are you doing it over and over? It’s boring and it’s time to end that. You know, you’ve won … why do you keep hammering at this?’” Stahl recalled.
“And he said: ‘You know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so that when you write negative stories about me no one will believe you.’”
To this day, Trump continues to attack the media and calling anyone who writes anything negative about him “fake news.” As you saw above, Trump is projecting and attempting to discredit the media.
The tweets from below are from just a few hours ago.
….Likewise, the @nytimes and @washingtonpost are a disgrace to journalism. They are all Fake News, and they know it better than anyone else. History is unfolding, and it is not a pretty picture for “journalism”.
