Trump Ridiculed Over Newly Disclosed Fixation: ‘I Can’t Quite Explain it’

Responding to a New York Times report that revealed Donald Trump’s preoccupation with the boxes of documents he unlawfully took from the White House after losing the re-election, Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson, appearing equally entertained, proceeded to mock the former president on “Morning Joe.”

As per The Times, “When one employee suggested relocating some of the boxes to storage, Mr. Trump’s former assistant Molly Michael, confirmed by multiple sources, responded with, ‘Woah!! Ok so POTUS specifically asked Walt for those boxes to be in the business center because they are his ‘papers,'” and she even used the phrase ‘the beautiful mind paper boxes’ in a text message, according to the indictment.”

When given an opportunity to comment on this revelation, Robinson wasted no time getting to the point.

“”In addition to being a bad person, Donald Trump is a deeply weird person,” he blurted out, triggering laughter from the entire panel. “Remember that point in the indictment where he’s talking to Evan Corcoran, his lawyer, you know, about the ‘pluck ’em out’ conversation, and he’s saying, ‘I don’t want anybody going through my boxes. I don’t want you going through my boxes’?”

“It’s almost like a scene out of ‘Lord of the Rings’ with Gollum,” he continued. “He has this compulsive need to hoard these documents, as if they were some strange security blanket, boosting his ego and serving as a reminder that he managed to become the president of the United States.”

“I can’t quite explain it, but it’s both pathological and criminal,” he added.
