Donald Trump lashed out at CBS reporter Catherine Herridge after she asked him why Black Americans are still being killed by law enforcement.
Trump’s response: “So are white people. What a terrible question to ask. More White people, by the way. More White people.”
As a 2016 study shows, people of color are far more likely to be killed by a police officer than white people. In fact, the study shows that the rate is nearly there times more (2.8 times higher).
Trump’s white supremacist-like response did not stop there. He went on to defend the people that keep defending the confederate flag.
He said that he isn’t bothered by the Confederate flag being flown at his events because it is an expression of freedom of speech.
“Well, people love it and I don’t view — I know people that like the Confederate flag and they’re not thinking about slavery,” said Trump.
Trump also said he believed flying the Confederate flag was an issue of freedom of speech. When pressed, the president said: “Well, people love it and I don’t view — I know people that like the Confederate flag and they’re not thinking about slavery.”https://t.co/GLhLtdtwYq
