Sitting for an interview for Canada-based “the Nelk Boys podcast” at his Mar-a-Lago residency, Donald Trump was asked to comment about the situation in Ukraine only to descend into a rambling tirade about windmills being “too expensive” and killing “all the birds.”

After blaming Barack Obama, Biden, and George W. Bush for Russia invading its neighbor and claiming “it would never have happened” if he was in office, Trump was was asked to comment about how he sees the conflict ending.

“What do you see happening next then?” host Kyle Forgeard asked. “Because it seems like the tensions are high. How does this all end? Is this going to be like a long-term thing? How do you see it unfolding?

“Well, and I said this a long time ago, if this happens, we are playing right into their hands,” Trump replied. “Green energy. The windmills, they don’t work, they’re too expensive, they kill all the birds, they ruin your landscapes, and yet, the environmentalists love the windmills.”

“I’ve been preaching this for years, the windmills,” the former president told the Canadian YouTuber before adding that Europe had made itself too reliant on Russian exports and that he sent a white flag of surrender to then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the Nord Stream 2 deal.
