Former President Donald Trump is being ridiculed on social media for his ongoing furious refusal to allow others to see what he called his “perfect and beautiful” tax returns.
Trump announced Monday that he intends to fight the new ruling from the Justice Department that the former president’s tax returns must be handed over to investigators in Congress.
The announcement, which came despite the fact that Trump’s tax returns were already handed over to the Manhattan District Attorney after a years-long legal battle that made its way up to the Supreme Court, was met with an avalanche of mockery from commenters on social media — some of whom noted Trump said he’d make his tax returns public at the very start of his 2015 presidential campaign.
Spent fight years calling his tax returns perfect and beautiful but fights like hell to keep anyone from seeing them.

This is such a non surprise!! Trump really needs to keep his taxes away from Congressional oversight at any cost. He has much to hide and it might embarrass him as he tries for a second term. Luckily he has $102,000,000 to help pay his lawyers. Rudy Giuliani doesn't get any! https://t.co/ESeJje4Htk

"There is no evidence of any wrongdoing here and I object to the release of the returns not only on behalf of my client but on behalf of all future holders of the office of the president of the United States."
Except EVERY office holder for last 30 yrs has done so voluntarily. https://t.co/1Ig5JnwbcI

Shouldn't it be mandatory that the public sees the returns of people running for president?

The rule I go by is 'Remember no matter what he says, the opposite is true.'

According to Trump's lawyer, "releasing his taxes would only serve to degrade him."
Now I really want to see them.

If he is as honest as he claims to be, why panic? What's there to hide Donald? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As a private individual, how does Trump have standing to interfere in what amounts to a routine request by the legislative branch for a document from the executive branch in furtherance of a legislative function?

I always wondered, for someone if you claim your taxes were perfect and whatever then what's wrong with showing people your tax returns regardless of how much you actually paid. By fighting so hard to hide it just makes it look even more incriminating.
