A judge has ordered Donald Trump to pay over £620,000 (around $812,000 USD) in legal fees after losing a lawsuit against a British company over claims that he engaged in ‘perverted’ sex acts.

As reported by The Guardian, Trump filed the lawsuit against Orbis Business Intelligence, a firm founded by Christopher Steele, the author of the controversial Steele Dossier. The memo claimed Trump conspired with Russia to influence the 2016 election and suggested he was “compromised” by his Russian ties. It also included allegations, which Trump denies, that he took part in “perverted” sex acts.

Trump’s legal battle began in 2022 when he filed a data protection claim against Orbis.

Judge Karen Steyn dismissed the case, stating, “There are no compelling reasons to allow the claim to proceed.”

After the lawsuit was thrown out, Trump was ordered to pay Orbis’s legal costs, starting with an initial £290,000 payment. In January, Trump was given 28 days to pay or risk losing his lawyers’ ability to present arguments in a future hearing about Orbis’s legal fees.

As a result, Trump was barred from participating in a three-day hearing to determine the final bill. On Thursday, Judge Jason Rowley announced that Trump now owes £626,058.98.
