Former President Donald Trump, renowned for his tangential and sometimes baffling speech patterns, has recently taken to defending his oratory style by branding it as a strategic masterpiece known as “The Weave.” He claimed that his seemingly incoherent monologues are actually a brilliant rhetorical tactic praised by English professors.

During a campaign rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Trump elaborated on his method, which he described as weaving together multiple topics in a way that eventually converges into a cohesive narrative.

“I look forward to debate with her,” Trump said, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris. “But what happened, so with Afghanistan… You know, I do the weave. You know what the weave is? I’ll talk about like nine different things that they all come back brilliantly together,” he continued, emphasizing his unique approach.

According to Trump, this technique involves shifting between various subjects, linking them in a manner that appears coherent in hindsight.

“It’s like friends of mine who are English professors say it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen,” he claimed, suggesting that his unconventional style has been met with acclaim from academic circles.

Trump criticized mainstream media for dismissing his speeches as mere rambling. “But the fake news, you know what they say, he rambled. That’s that rambling. When you have what you do is you get off a subject to mention another little tidbit, then you get back onto the subject, and you go through this and you do it for two hours, and you don’t even mispronounce one word,” he argued, defending his verbal approach.

He also mentioned his tendency to exaggerate crowd sizes, referencing a rally in New Jersey where he claimed 107,000 attendees, despite media reports to the contrary.

Critics of Trump’s rhetorical style have long characterized his speeches as erratic and lacking clear structure, often veering off-topic and returning to earlier points in a seemingly haphazard manner. However, Trump’s new characterization of these speeches as “The Weave” presents them as a deliberate and sophisticated technique rather than disorganized ramblings.
