Donald Trump’s campaign was asked on Tuesday about his donations to re-elect Kamala Harris as attorney general in California in 2011 and 2012.

Trump attacked Harris on Tuesday shortly after learning that she was selected as Joe Biden’s running mate. Trump called her “nasty.”
This prompted NBC News reporter Monica Alba to ask Trump campaign senior advisor Katrina Pierson about the donations.
Pierson ignored the question and just said the donations prove Trump isn’t racist.
“Kamala Harris is a black woman and he donated to her campaign so I hope we can squash this racism argument now,” Pierson argued.
Asked Trump camp about the $6K donation to Harris in '11/'13 & @KatrinaPierson emphasized he did so as a private citizen & then implied it should show he’s not racist: "Kamala Harris is a black woman & he donated to her campaign so I hope we can squash this racism argument now."
