Matt Braynard, the former data chief for Donald Trump’s campaign, has announced a MAGA protest at the nation’s Capitol on August 18 — to rail on behalf of so-called “political prisoners” charged in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

“We’re going back to the Capitol, right where it started. And it’s going to be huge,” Braynard told Steve Bannon during a recent podcast, The Huffington Post reports.

“As we continue to raise the profiles of these individuals” who have been arrested, it “makes it harder and harder for the left’s phony narrative about an insurrection to stick,” Braynard said. “We’re going to push back on the phony narrative that there was an insurrection.”

The announcement comes as another Trump ally, Pillow CEO Mike Lindell, announced that Trump would be reinstated as president on August 15, three days before the protest.

Despite multiple dramatic videos of scenes to the contrary, Braynard told Bannon the crowd that day was “largely peaceful” — and simply “egged on in many cases by the Capitol Police.”

The majority of the cases are moving quickly through the legal system with people pleading guilty and getting away on probation. Some of them have told courts that they made a huge mistake even blame the former president for their legal troubles.
