In a fiery tirade, former President Donald Trump took aim at President Biden, his son Hunter Biden, Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith, and the media following the discovery of cocaine at the White House.
Trump took to Truth Social to express his skepticism about the cocaine’s purpose, stating, “Does anybody really believe that the COCAINE found in the West Wing of the White House, very close to the Oval Office, is for the use of anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden?”
He then asserted that the media would downplay the significance of the finding, claiming they would dismiss it as a “very small” amount or even suggest it was merely crushed aspirin, leading the story to vanish.
The Secret Service revealed that a routine sweep on Sunday uncovered a suspicious white powder in a section of the White House, resulting in a temporary closure and evacuation of the premises. Following subsequent testing, the powder was confirmed to be cocaine, though deemed nonhazardous. The Secret Service is currently investigating how it entered the White House.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refrained from speculating on the individual responsible for leaving the drug, but she noted that it was discovered in an area frequently visited by guests.
During his online rant, Trump also raised questions about Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith, insinuating his potential involvement with the cocaine incident. He even went as far as to comment on Smith’s appearance, remarking that he “looks like a crackhead to me.”
Smith, appointed by Merrick Garland, has been leading investigations into Trump’s handling of classified documents and the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, as well as attempts to interfere in the transfer of power after the 2020 election.
