Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist and niece of Donald Trump, has issued a dire warning about her uncle’s mental health, branding him as “dementing” after his latest incoherent public appearance. Her alarm comes after Trump’s nonsensical response to a question on childcare at the Economic Club of New York last week.
In a blistering Substack post, Mary Trump exposed the former president’s mental unraveling. Trump’s rambling answer on childcare was marked by disjointed thoughts and baffling statements. Instead of offering concrete policy proposals, Trump offered a muddled discourse that included vague references to tariffs and an incoherent mantra: “childcare is childcare.”
“Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down, I was somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so impactful on that issue,” Trump began. “It’s a very important issue, but I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about that because look, childcare is childcare. There’s something, you have to have it in this country, you have to have it.”
Mary Trump didn’t mince words in her critique. She described Trump’s response as “gibberish,” criticizing the media for failing to address the severity of his cognitive decline. She accused journalists of sanitizing Trump’s erratic behavior, transforming his nonsensical ramblings into coherent language that shields the public from the truth.
“They must translate Donald’s nonsensical ramblings into a version of the English language we can all understand,” she wrote.
“It’s deeply disturbing that someone as unhinged and incoherent as Donald Trump is even considered a viable presidential candidate,” Mary Trump declared. She drew a sharp contrast between Trump’s alarming mental deterioration and President Biden’s aging, stating, “Biden is aging while Donald is decompensating before our very eyes.”
“Surely a political press corps that spent months arguing that President Biden’s age rendered him mentally unfit, wouldn’t look the other way when the Republican candidate, the oldest person to run for president in American history, is not only old but decompensating before our very eyes,” she wrote. “The difference of course is that Biden is aging while Donald is dementing.”
The psychologist suggested that Trump’s erratic behavior could be driven by intense fear and desperation. She implied that his frantic efforts to reclaim the presidency might be rooted in a desire to escape his mounting legal troubles.
Adding to the urgency of her warnings, Mary Trump criticized Trump’s recent threats to jail anyone he accuses of election-related “unscrupulous behavior.” She condemned his vow to target lawyers, political operatives, donors, and election officials as a dangerous misuse of presidential power and a potential harbinger of authoritarian retribution.
In her scathing conclusion, Mary Trump emphasized the gravity of the situation. “The American people deserve to know what we’re truly facing. We need to be told unequivocally that there’s a maniac on the loose,” she asserted, highlighting the peril of a mentally deteriorating individual potentially assuming the highest office in the land.
