Republican candidate John Cox on Tuesday was served with a subpoena in the middle of a California recall election debate.
A video posted by Los Angeles Times reporter Melody Gutierrez, shows the moment a private investigator interrupts the discussion when he strode to the front of the room, announced “Mr. Cox, you’ve been served.”
The investigator threw plastic-wrapped court documents onto the stage before he was asked to leave the proceedings.
Cox dismissed the subpoena as a “garbage thing.”
