A Portland man is facing multiple sexual assault charges for allegedly raping a 3-year-old child and sexually assaulting a dog and a dead deer, local NBC station KOIN-6 reports.
Police said Damon J. Cervantes, 32, was under investigation for child rape when he attempted to exonerate himself by providing investigators with his phone — which contained videos of the suspect sexually abusing a dog and a dead deer, the news outlet reports.
Citing a probable cause affidavit filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court, the station reported that Cervantes assaulted the three-year-old child he was supposed to be watching on Sept. 25, and told two other children that were present to “keep it a secret.”
After initially denied that allegations and accused children were lying and said his cellphone usage would prove he was busy at the time of the incident, according to court records.
After agreeing to come in for questioning, Cervantes showed some screen captures that he had taken to support his contention,” according to court records.
But a further search of the phone turned up two videos, taken from multiple angles, showing Cervantes in his bedroom having sex with a pit bull while wearing a shirt captioned “What day is it? HUMPDAY,” per court papers. Detectives also found a video of the suspect sexually assaulting an unconscious deer, according to the report.
