Donald Trump has a new conspiracy theory he refers to as Obamagate, where he claims that former President Barack Obama formed a coup to go after his presidency.
CNN reported on Tuesday that “Trump ramped up his rhetoric over the weekend after Obama criticized the Justice Department for dropping its criminal case against former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn. Trump’s new focus on Obama also served as a diversion from the coronavirus pandemic, as the nationwide death toll passed 80,000 and the unemployment rate tripled to a staggering 14.7%.”
Twitter users decided to troll Trump for trying to cover up his crimes by creating a false conspiracy about former president Obama.
Some compared Trump to former gangster Al Capone.
"Obama-gate" is basically Al Capone trying to indict the IRS for tax evasion.

"Obama-gate" is Vladimir Putin and his stooges claiming the US government, not the Kremlin, subverted the 2016 election. https://t.co/aTNBmy4qqi

All you need to know about #Obamagate and Obama's super secret espionage work was that Obama straight up told Trump directly that Flynn was compromised. Because he was. So much so that a federal judge wondered why he wasn't charged with treason. The end.

“Obamagate” now has become
A GOP focus; in sum,
This theory, at heart,
In whole and in part,
Is very exhausting and dumb.— Limericking (@Limericking) May 13, 2020
From the Republicans that brought you Burisma comes the new and equally baseless sequel: Obamagate https://t.co/P1iF1TvT6A

In other words, they have no evidence Obama ordered the FBI’s (completely appropriate) interview with Flynn, but, you know, it’s the kind of thing Obama would do. https://t.co/FuenKq9Oll

Watching Rand Paul and other Republicans desperately parrot this "Obamagate" bullshit is already pathetic enough on its face, but I'm *really* not sure pitting the least popular president in modern American history against one of the most popular presidents is the move here.

Meanwhile the pandemic caused by @realDonaldTrump's stupidity and incompetence has already caused 84,747 US deaths — that's 21,187 Benghazis and counting. #ObamaGate #NothingBurger #PartyOfPutin https://t.co/Ch6AKR6V7P
