Kanye West, now known as Ye, had his social platform account reinstated after reportedly assuring the company, now called X, that he would refrain from sharing any content that promotes antisemitism or hatred.

The controversial rapper was removed from Twitter in December 2022 for posting an image that combined a Nazi swastika with the Star of David, which was later deleted. The suspension was attributed to “incitement to violence” by Elon Musk.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the company decided to restore West’s account after receiving reassurance that he would not engage in any harmful language, particularly antisemitism. However, there has been no public statement from Musk regarding the reinstatement.

As of now, West has not made any new posts since his suspension eight months ago, despite having over 31 million followers.

West has claimed that his antisemitic rants cost him $2 billion in business deals, with Adidas cutting ties with him as a result.

Elon Musk, who finalized the acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022, announced last week that the platform would be rebranded as X. The new X app is expected to encompass various features such as audio, video, messaging, payments/banking, and more. As part of the rebranding, a bright “X” sign was installed on the top of its San Francisco headquarters.
