GOP Rep. Jim Jordan, of Ohio, is being dragged on Twitter after “clearly lying” during an interview when he was asked if he spoke with then-President Donald Trump on Jan. 6.

“On January 6, did you speak with [Trump] before, during, or after the riot?” Spectrum News anchor Taylor Popielarz asked Jordan amid growing questions surrounding the role some GOP lawmakers had in the violent insurrection.

Jordan tried to avoid a straightforward answer and ended up digging himself into a hole.

“Uh, I’d have to go — I spoke with him that day — after? I think after,” Jordan said after being caught off guard. “I don’t know if I spoke with him in the morning or not, I just don’t know. I’d have to go back and — I mean, I don’t know … I don’t know, uh, when those conversations happened, but what I know is I spoke with him all the time.”

As expected, Twitter users picked up on Jordan’s bizarre explanation and the responses came fast and furious:
