MAGA insurrectionist Kyle James Young, of Redfield, Iowa, is among several Trump supporters who have been charged for assaulting Metropolitan Police Department officer Michael Fanone during the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., according to an unsealed indictment released by the U.S. Justice Department. Now, his wife and QAnon fanatic Andrea Young, is asking the internet for help to get her husband out of jail, claiming he’s is “innocent.”
“My husband Kyle Young was arrested on April 14, 2021 in connection to the January 6 protest. The FBI came to our home and took Kyle in front of our children,” Mrs. Young wrote on the Christian crowdfunding site “Give Send Go.”
She added: “Kyle is loving father and a wonderful husband. He is an innocent man. He is facing 12 charges. We have four children that really need their father back. They are ages 17, 13, 8, and 1. He was immediately denied release. My husband no longer has his job to support us. My job isn’t enough to pay all our bills and I am afraid we could lose our home. Any help we get will make sure my children and I can stay in our family home, pay for Kyles defense, help us keep in touch with Kyle and make sure he can get food while he is jailed. Kyle lost 17 pounds in the first month and a half of being incarcerated. Please pray for us.
Kyle James Young, 37, is facing 12 charges, including assaulting, resisting or impeding law enforcement officers.
Prosecutors allege that Young was among the mob of supporters of former President Donald Trump that dragged Fanone, 40, down the steps of the U.S. Capitol, shocked him with a stun gun, and stole his ammunition and his badge.
According to the indictment, which was filed April 9 and unsealed Friday, Young attempted to take Fanone’s service weapon.
In Fanone’s recount of the assault to media, he said he heard rioters shout “We got one! We got one!” and “Kill him with his own gun!” as the pro-Trump mob beat him. Fanone said he thought if he used deadly force, he would have been overpowered and killed.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Fanone recalled hearing: “We got one! We got one!” and “Kill him with his own gun!”
Reddit users replied to Mrs. Young’s request for help, but the responses were not what she hoped for. Check some of the highlights below:
User “Pooperson1” replied with a QAnon line: “I’m sorry he was executed by a military tribunal on April 15th and this is just a clone.”
“Or a robot. Or a lizard person. Or a patriot in a skin suit. Who knows??” another user wrote.
DaanGFX wrote: “Wait… No joke, it would be hilarious to troll bake the idea that everyone arrested was secretly executed and cloned just like they think about politicians. At least one person’s friend or family member would freak.
User Amunrah357: “Why didn’t he comply?”
Haeronalda: “Yeah, isn’t Fanone the one they only let go because he told them he had kids? Nah. He can rot in prison.”
FnordsWillEatYou: “Where can I donate to the prosecution??”
Hopfit46: “Just do what the officers said….comical when middle class white dudes get a taste of the American “justice” system…the jails are full of black men for “resisting arrest”
User Hugz: “I’ll give her the same advice she’d have, no doubt, given a poor minority. Get job, and quit having kids you can’t afford with criminals who can’t support them because they’re in prison!”
Clauquick: “and remind her that her husband should’ve complied.”
LargeSackOfNuts: “If your husband would have just not broken the law, he could have been home with the kids. Sorry hun, but we are tough on crime here in Murica.”
Etahea: “It’ll probably be a while before Kyle returns home…”
OllieGarkey: “Fanone identified Young as the guy who tried to take his weapon from him and kill him with it. They’ve got his voice saying this on bodycam audio.”
SevenDeadlyGentlemen: “In connection with the Jan 6 protest” is a funny way of saying “for beating up a cop during an attempted overthrow of the federal government”
Engineerfieldmouse: “His kids are better off thinking their father is dead. Scum bag”
Elestgw: “I mean, she’d probably be better off hedging her bets on what federal penitentiary he’s going to go to and move there.”
Susan-stoHelit: “That officer probably has kids who rely on him too. He’s someone’s kid. Kyle didn’t seem to consider that. But don’t worry, there is an end in sight – when he is convicted and serves his sentence.”
