Donald Trump has once again made a bold claim, comparing himself to music legend Elvis Presley. This time, he shared a side-by-side image of himself alongside a young picture of Elvis on his Truth Social account. This isn’t the first time Trump has drawn such comparisons, as he’s often tried to associate himself with famous figures.
On Sunday, Trump posted the photo, with Elvis on the left and Trump on the right. He captioned it, “For so many years people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike. Now this pic has been going all over the place. What do you think?” He had posted a similar version of the image on Instagram last year, which led to further discussions about the resemblance.
Trump has frequently compared himself to other iconic people, like Frank Sinatra, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, and even Jesus Christ, as he often seems to want to be linked with historical and cultural giants.
This latest post is part of Trump’s ongoing habit of drawing attention to his image on social media. Last year, during his arrest, his mugshot became a topic of discussion, with Trump claiming it was the “best” mugshot ever, even better than those of Elvis and Sinatra. He said, “Since this has happened, the mugshot, the mugshot, is the best. It just beat Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra by a lot, by the way, beat ’em by a lot. But that’s the number one mug shot of all time.”

Trump’s post was met with a storm of ridicule on social media.
“Donald Trump is a delusional old man,” one user wrote.
“Wonder if he’ll die on the toilet, too,” another joked.
“Don’t be cruel,” another user commented, referencing Elvis’s famous hit song.
“He was likened to Hitler too which is more accurate,” someone else pointed out.
“Elvis played the guitar. Donny plays an imaginary accordion when he speaks,” another user quipped.
“Not even remotely close,” one user declared.
“Future generations of Americans will look back at this period and wonder ‘what the hell were they thinking?'” one user wrote.
“His insecurities are wild. His rabid craving for self-importance only makes him look like a weak little boy,” another comment read.
