As she talked about Trump “looking from 30,000 feet above” and calling the market slump a temporary “disruption,” the Fox ticker showed stock prices falling rapidly—almost 100 points in just two minutes.
While Bartiromo tried to brush off the crash, saying it was just companies and investors adjusting to “a new sheriff in town,” viewers saw the reality: the market was tanking right in front of them. She also claimed that Trump’s policies would bring “huge investments” to the U.S. and argued that his broader economic agenda would actually reduce inflation.
Social media users were quick to point out the irony, with one saying the situation could be part of an “SNL” skit. Others joined in, mocking the disconnect between Bartiromo’s spin and the reality of the market collapse.
