Rudy Giuliani, the former lawyer for Donald Trump, is now teetering on the brink of disbarment in a stunning development.
A Washington D.C. Bar hearing committee has put forth a scathing recommendation, urging Giuliani’s disbarment due to his “frivolous” allegations of voter fraud that he used to claim the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, Bloomberg News legal reporter Zoe Tillman reveals.
While this recommendation doesn’t immediately strip Giuliani of his legal credentials, it deals yet another crippling blow to the man who once held the esteemed title of “America’s mayor” after his leadership during the harrowing aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City.
According to the committee’s report, Giuliani is taken to task for recklessly filing a lawsuit that aimed to overturn the outcome of the presidential election without any factual basis or legitimate legal grounds.
The Bar’s scathing critique accuses Giuliani of a shameless attempt to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvania voters, ultimately seeking to undermine the legitimacy of the entire 2020 election.
In a resolute stance, the committee contends that Giuliani has “surrendered his right to practice law” and must face disbarment as a consequence of his actions.
Giuliani is not the sole Trump lawyer facing repercussions for their attempts to unlawfully maintain Trump’s position in the White House. Recently, former Trump lawyer Lin Wood voluntarily surrendered his law license to avoid potential disbarment, while John Eastman, the author of the controversial “coup memo” advising then-Vice President Mike Pence to reject the certification of the 2020 election results, is currently fighting to preserve his license to practice law.
