Capitol police officers who defended Congress during the Jan. 6 insurrection offered powerful and often emotional testimony before lawmakers on Tuesday, recounting scenes of chaos, violence and destruction as the House select committee kicked off its investigation into the insurrection.
The four police officers on the stand described fearing for their lives as they were overwhelmed by the sheer size of the pro-Trump mob — and how many of them are still suffering from physical and emotional trauma more than six months later.
At the end of the hearing, officer Harry Dunn demanded the arrest of everyone involved in the attack, including the ones who organized and sent the MAGA mob to the Capitol, comparing it to hitjob.
“If a hitman is hired, and he kills somebody, the hitman goes to the jail. But not only does the hitman go to jail, but the person who hired him does,” Officer Dunn says.
“There was an attack carried out on Jan. 6th and a hitman sent them.”
“Arrest him!”
