Argentina has defeated Croatia after Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez propelled the South American team to the World Cup final with a dominant 3-0 semifinal at Lusail Stadium.
Croatia was aiming to reach back-to-back finals after their 2018 heroics, but they fell short as the Argentinian team demonstrated better execution throughout the game.
Alvarez tenaciously bundled his way through a scattered Croatia defense on the counter-attack to double the lead and the two goalscorers combined delightfully in the 69th minute – Messi tormenting Josko Gvardiol with a mesmerizing dribble before teeing up Alvarez for his fourth of the tournament.
Messi left the commentary panel lost for words with this beautiful piece of skill to gift Argentina the third goal.
