An anonymous donor has paid all the funeral costs for all 19 children and two adults who were killed in the Uvalde mass shooting, Texas authorities announced Friday. The cost of all of the funeral expenses totaled about $175,000, according to KOMO News reports.
Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement thanking the anonymous donor “for his generosity.”
“We appreciate that anonymous donor for his generosity, and we will ensure that those resources get into the right hands,” he said.
Abbott also briefed the public on the mental health services that will be available to those affected by the murders, free of charge.

“No family who is suffering from incalculable heartbreak at this time will have to worry about a single cost with regard to anything concerning this travesty,” he said.
Abbott has faced criticism for his response to the shooting and for making it easier for people to acquire guns in the state.
