Eric Deters apparently has had enough. The MAGA donor who Kimberly Guilfoyle allegedly begged for $100,000 to pay her American Express bill is now unloading on her — calling her a “grifter” and a “wicked, evil person.”
And he isn’t stopping with Guilfoyle.
Deters also took aim at Donald Trump, saying he likes many of the president’s policies but “cannot stand” Trump’s “megalomaniac” personality.
The donor at the center of the Guilfoyle scandal has now turned on the entire Trump orbit. And he has plenty to say.
The latest explosion came Thursday during interviews with the media after The Wall Street Journal published a report detailing hundreds of messages and other communications between Deters and Guilfoyle, the U.S. ambassador to Greece.
According to the Journal, Guilfoyle contacted Deters in July 2025 — just days before her Senate confirmation hearing — asking him to wire $100,000 directly to an American Express account.
The alleged Signal messages included instructions for making the payment without leaving a paper trail.
“It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” Guilfoyle allegedly wrote.
“Honey please I need you to get this done for me today,” she begged.
Deters refused.
And now he’s talking. A lot.
During an appearance on MS NOW, Deters called Guilfoyle a “grifter” and said he believes she has done similar things to other people.
“Kimberly Guilfoyle is a grifter,” Deters said. “Kimberly Guilfoyle, I have no doubt has done this to more than me. She’s doing it right now in Greece.”
Then he really turned up the heat.
“I cannot stand Kimberly Guilfoyle,” he said. “Kimberly Guilfoyle is a wicked, evil person.”
Deters said Guilfoyle apparently thought he would be an easy mark.
“She thought I was gonna be a sucker, and I’m not a sucker!” he said.
And then he explained why he believes the $100,000 request was more than just a favor between friends.
“It absolutely was a quid pro quo,” Deters said in another interview.
His allegation is that Guilfoyle was offering access to Trump administration officials while seeking money from him.
The Wall Street Journal’s reporting found that Deters had been seeking Guilfoyle’s help with tax and legal problems involving the federal government. He had also promised her as much as $1 million if she could successfully help him with his requests, including getting him on Tucker Carlson’s show.
Deters says Guilfoyle worked his requests. She forwarded messages she had sent to the IRS commissioner.
She told him she was lobbying the Justice Department. She tried to help him get an interview with Carlson.
But Deters says the results never matched the promises.
Deters has released messages, photographs and other material documenting his dealings with Guilfoyle.
Guilfoyle’s attorney has challenged the authenticity of the Signal messages but has not specified which messages are disputed. The State Department has defended her, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio has praised her performance.
But Deters wasn’t finished with Guilfoyle.
He went after the Trump family, too.
And that’s where this story gets even more interesting.
Deters said he likes many of Trump’s policies. But the president himself?
That’s another story.
“I cannot stand President Trump personally,” Deters said.
He described Trump as a “megalomaniac” and accused him of caring about billionaires and powerful politicians while paying attention to ordinary supporters primarily when he needs their votes.
Then he went after Trump’s sons.
Deters criticized Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump over their involvement in cryptocurrency, arguing that the family is profiting from the same political world it once criticized.
“In my opinion, Hunter Biden and Joe Biden were shadow grifters,” Deters said. “The Trumps are in the open.”
He also took aim at Jared Kushner and his reported $3 billion Saudi-backed investment fund.
“I’m a Midwest farm boy,” Deters said. “I don’t like their yuck-yuck world.”
“You couldn’t pay me to go back to Mar-a-Lago,” he added.
But Deters isn’t abandoning MAGA. At least not yet.
When asked whether the experience had changed his political views, he said he would still vote for Trump and other MAGA candidates.
So his criticism isn’t coming from someone who suddenly became a Democratic activist.
It’s coming from a donor who says he still supports Trump’s political agenda while simultaneously accusing people inside Trump’s orbit of behavior he finds deeply troubling.
And he’s making sure everyone hears them.
