A California Democrat is making sweeping allegations after reviewing unredacted materials tied to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation — claims the Trump administration is forcefully rejecting.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that documents made available to select members of Congress contain repeated references to former President Donald Trump and include serious accusations involving minors.

According to Lieu, the unredacted portion of the files mentions Trump “thousands and thousands of times” and includes allegations that he committed sexual assault and made threats against minors. Lieu described the material as deeply disturbing and said it warrants further scrutiny from both the media and law enforcement.

The Trump administration quickly fired back, dismissing Lieu’s remarks as “salaciously insane” and saying they have “ZERO credibility.” A spokesperson also called the congressman “a disgrace” and accused him of making baseless claims for political gain.

Lieu has been pressing for transparency around the Epstein files for weeks. During a February oversight hearing, he questioned Attorney General Pam Bondi about why certain sexual assault allegations referenced in the documents had not led to further investigation. He also accused the Justice Department of failing to follow up on a complaint from an FBI tipster that allegedly included rape claims connected to Trump.

In prior remarks, Lieu said the public deserves full transparency about the contents of the files and how the Justice Department has handled them. He has argued that credible complaints should be thoroughly investigated, regardless of who is implicated.

The Epstein files, released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, include millions of pages of court records, investigative materials, and related documents tied to the late financier’s criminal network. The law requires the Department of Justice to make public a broad swath of those records, including unredacted lists of politically exposed individuals named in the documents.

A number of high-profile figures — including Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Prince Andrew — have appeared in various filings or records connected to Epstein. Being named in the documents does not necessarily indicate wrongdoing.

The controversy is likely to intensify as more materials are reviewed and as lawmakers continue to debate how much of the remaining unredacted information should be made public.
