Melania Trump is officially stepping into Hollywood—or at least the part of it that can be bought. On Friday, the First Lady announced the launch of a new film production company, Muse, the latest addition to the ever-expanding Trump family business enclave.

The debut came via a 10-second video on her X account, featuring the company logo set to instrumental music and a large “M” popping onto the screen. The announcement arrives just weeks before the release of her self-titled documentary, MELANIA, which Amazon MGM Studios reportedly snapped up for $40 million. According to The Daily Beast, the film promises an “unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look” at Melania’s life.

The name Muse isn’t just a marketing flourish—it harks back to her Secret Service codename from the first Trump administration. CNN reported that her husband’s codename was “Mogul.”

Details on future projects remain murky. No other films have been announced, and it’s unclear if any are already in development. Sources suggest Melania pitched the concept directly to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his now-wife, Lauren Sanchez, during a Mar-a-Lago dinner following Donald Trump’s second presidential win.

Unsurprisingly, the announcement has sparked ridicule online. Novelist Paul Rudnick weighed in with sharp satire:

“Melania announced her own movie company called Muse Films. Early projects: – A remake of Pretty Woman where the female lead is called a ‘top model and entrepreneur’ – A Hallmark movie about a girl from Slovenia who marries Justin Trudeau – An action movie called Offshore Accounts.”

Social media responses ran the gamut from mockery to outright dismissal. User Judy Monaco joked, “A porn flick called ‘My Life with Jeffrey.’” Rich Klein shrugged, “I don’t really care.”

Nadine Penzer delivered a biting economic critique: “Hahaha 😂 I predict 5 tickets will be sold worldwide totaling a gross profit of $100 dollars. I can also surmise that the cost to produce and distribute was around $100 million of the 🇺🇸 American’s taxpayers money thus making a net profit of NEGATIVE -$999,900.00! MEANS WE 🇺🇸AMERICANS NOW OWE MORE MONEY THEN WE EARNED = The Donald J. Trump Republican Current Tariff System!!!”

Other reactions pointed to imitation and vanity. User @kjducy noted, “Didn’t the Obamas start a film company too??”

James Bulter added, “She started a production company so she can make a movie about herself?”

Christina Carr asked, “Are you producing the upcoming ‘Treason Season’?!?!'” while Real Hw of Springfield simply replied, “Hard pass.”

Whether Muse becomes a serious player in Hollywood or simply a vanity venture remains to be seen. For now, Melania Trump has joined the ranks of celebrity entrepreneurs whose ambition, at the very least, keeps social media entertained.
