‘Traitor,’ ‘Disgrace’: Trump–MTG War Escalates in Explosive Epstein Files Fight

What used to be one of the closest alliances in MAGA politics has now morphed into a full-blown political brawl. Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene are now locked in a bitter, public war triggered by a clash over the Epstein files. The fallout has been fast, messy, and unusually personal.

Trump opened fire on Saturday, unloading a barrage of insults at Greene on Truth Social after announcing he would no longer endorse her — a stunning reversal given how fiercely she once defended him.

“Lightweight Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown (Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!), betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left, performed poorly on the pathetic View, and became the RINO that we all know she always was. Just another Fake politician,” Trump wrote. Then he doubled down: “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!”

Greene, blindsided and clearly furious, said Trump’s attacks were “astonishing” and accused him of trying to “make an example to scare all the other Republicans” ahead of a potential vote on releasing more Epstein documents. She reminded him — and everyone else — that she does not “worship or serve Donald Trump.”

Within hours of Trump’s broadside, Greene took to X with a message that sounded like a pivot away from the MAGA kingdom she once defended at all costs.

“I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” she wrote.

She called for “a new way forward,” saying the “toxic political industrial complex thrives on ripping us all apart” and delivers nothing for regular Americans. Greene warned that the traditional political machine pits citizens against each other “to the point of violence,” fueled in part by weaponized outrage and fundraising off hatred.

“We can have our own differences and differing opinions but we can still love and respect one another,” she added — a message distinctly out of sync with the brawl erupting around her.

The split didn’t come out of nowhere. Trump had already been irritated by Greene’s recent criticism of what she called his “America Last” approach to foreign policy, as well as her frustration over a “revolving door at the White House of foreign leaders” while Americans struggle with high prices.

Behind the scenes, Trump allies had been annoyed that Greene was drifting publicly from the MAGA line. But after her appearance on The View, Trump went scorched-earth.

On The View earlier this month — an appearance that enraged Trump and MAGA influencers — Greene vented about Washington’s performative chaos.

“I’m really tired of the p*ssing contest in Washington, D.C. between the men. I really am,” she said, drawing cheers from a live audience that normally treats Trump-aligned guests like pyrotechnics.

She also took swipes at House Speaker Mike Johnson and unnamed “weak and pathetic” MAGA influencers.

For Trump, who views loyalty as a first principle, her comments were gasoline on an already-smoldering fire. By the weekend, he was mocking her outright: “Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT.”

The Trump–Greene fallout is a major shock to the Republican Party’s right flank. Greene was once one of Trump’s most devoted loyalists, a dependable attack dog.

Now, she’s being rebranded by Trump himself as a “RINO” and “Fake politician” for demanding the release of the Epstein files.

Whether this is a temporary meltdown or a permanent fracture is still unclear. But one thing is: the fight over the Epstein files has detonated a political relationship that once looked ironclad — and it’s sending tremors through the GOP.
