President Donald Trump lit a match and threw it straight into the national discourse Monday night, posting a grotesque AI-generated video targeting Democratic leaders Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer—and the internet responded with fire.

The video, which Trump shared on his Truth Social account, features House Minority Leader Jeffries sporting a cartoonish sombrero and handlebar moustache, while a deepfaked Schumer spews a racist tirade over the “Mexican Hat Dance” soundtrack. It’s offensive. It’s childish. And it’s not even subtle.

The fake Schumer’s AI-generated voice says:

“Look guys, there’s no way to sugar-coat it: nobody likes Democrats anymore. We have no voters left because of all of our woke trans bull—-. Not even Black people want to vote for us anymore, even Latinos hate us. So we need new voters, and if we give all these illegal aliens free health care, we might be able to get them on our side so they can vote for us. They can’t even speak English, so they won’t realize we’re just a bunch of woke pieces of s—, at least for a while until they learn English and they realize they hate us too.”

It’s not just vile—it’s calculated. And in typical Trump fashion, it was timed to distract, dropped hours before a looming government shutdown that’s about to leave federal workers without pay and millions of Americans without key services.

Lawmakers were swift to respond. Jeffries hit back immediately, calling it a “disgusting video” and posting a photo of Trump alongside convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein with a chilling caption: “this is real.”

Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) didn’t hold back either.

“A deeply racist AI video posted by the president of the United States – on the brink of a government shutdown and a health care crisis he created,” she wrote on X. “This is peak Donald Trump and it’s a goddamn tragedy for our country.”

And if you were hoping this would be one of those moments where Republican allies in Congress find a shred of spine—don’t hold your breath.

Online, outrage spread quickly. Thousands weighed in, some even calling for Trump’s removal under the 25th Amendment.

A user named “Dave,” known for regular critiques of the president, summed up the mood bluntly:

“The President of the United States posted this racist, altered video on his Truth Social account tonight. This is obviously unacceptable. He has lost it. He needs to go; 25th amendment now. But I doubt JD Vance or Trump’s Cabinet Secretaries have the courage to get rid of him.”

Let’s be clear, this isn’t just some offhand, late-night post from an unhinged celebrity. This is the sitting President of the United States, deploying AI and racist stereotypes in an attempt to demean political opponents and stoke outrage while ducking accountability for real crises—like the government shutdown he’s presiding over.
