Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) hastily walked off stage at a town hall meeting over the weekend after angry voters confronted him over federal budget cuts affecting veterans.

During the event, he was questioned about how these cuts were hurting veterans, and when the topic of DOGE firing veterans came up, the tension grew.

Instead of addressing his constituents’ concerns, Marshall chose to end the town hall early after being confronted about the issue. Local news outlets reported that the senator left the meeting on Saturday after facing pressure over the cuts and their impact on veterans.

Matt McDermott, a Democratic strategist, described the situation, saying Marshall “stood up and left his own town hall meeting” after being asked why Republicans thought it was okay for DOGE to fire veterans.

Ben Honeycutt, a middle school teacher from Colorado Springs, also shared his thoughts, commenting on X, “Watching Roger Marshall get bodied in blood-red Oakley, Kansas was a wild experience today.”
