Late last night, former President Donald Trump launched into a frenzied spree of reposting QAnon-inspired memes on Truth Social, targeting Vice President Kamala Harris with a series of aggressive and baseless attacks.
Trump is notorious for these late-night social media binges, and this latest episode extended well into Tuesday afternoon. By now, he has shared eight different memes disparaging Harris, with no sign of stopping.
The first meme depicted Harris as being propped up by the media, including Fox News, with the inflammatory caption, “Enemy of the people.”
Another meme labeled Harris as “Iran’s useful idiot” and a “cackling moron,” echoing Trump’s recent criticisms of her laughter and linking it to unfounded claims about OPEC’s influence on gas prices.
Trump also shared a meme suggesting that Democrats themselves don’t support Harris, despite evidence to the contrary such as enthusiastic voter engagement and significant fundraising.
One particularly misleading meme falsely dubbed Harris the “border czar,” a role she doesn’t hold. The meme derisively labeled her as “Lyin’ Kamala,” despite her actual responsibility being focused on diplomatic efforts to address the root causes of migration.
A fifth meme attempted to frame Trump as the virtuous figure and Harris as the embodiment of evil, a stark and simplistic portrayal.
Another desperate meme claimed that Harris was involved in covering up President Joe Biden’s health issues, despite Biden’s continued role and functionality as president. The meme described Harris as “unfit” for office.
Trump also shared a meme mocking Harris’ popularity as some sort of illusion or trick.
Lastly, he reposted a meme falsely claiming Harris supports “defunding the police.”
This barrage of unhinged memes reflects Trump’s mounting frustration and desperation as he faces an increasingly popular opponent in Harris. His late-night social media outbursts seem likely to only bolster Harris’s standing while exacerbating his own declining support.
