MSNBC host Joe Scarborough unleashed a blistering critique on Thursday’s “Morning Joe,” targeting former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley for her decision to support Donald Trump, despite her past condemnations of him as a threat to the country and mentally unfit.
On Wednesday, Haley, who exited the Republican primary months ago, declared her intent to vote for Trump, even as he faces 34 felony charges in Manhattan. Haley vaguely criticized President Joe Biden as a “disaster” without providing specifics.
Scarborough and the “Morning Joe” panel didn’t hold back, denouncing Haley’s apparent opportunism.
“She once called Trump a bully, unstable, and unhinged — too unhinged to get a driver’s license,” Scarborough fumed. “Now, suddenly, Biden is the disaster. They talk about Biden being a disaster but can’t name anything concrete. They complain about student loans while ignoring attempts to overthrow American democracy. It’s mind-boggling how out of touch and foolish they sound.”
Scarborough continued, “They don’t call Biden a socialist, Marxist, or communist with the Dow over 40,000 and a booming economy. It just shows their ignorance. Haley has made her choice, unlike many principled conservatives. She’s chosen to side with an authoritarian, and that’s on her.”
Scarborough also slammed Haley for claiming Trump would hold America’s enemies “to account,” branding her statements as “fact-free garbage” and highlighting Trump’s troubling ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
