Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) slammed the Supreme Court’s conservative justices, suggesting that they’ve morphed into nothing more than “partisan operatives.” In a fiery rebuke on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut,” Raskin didn’t hold back, proposing that the Supreme Court should set up shop at the Republican National Committee headquarters, given their blatant political bias.

“Well, they’re politicians who are not even subject to popular election unlike me. They should move the Supreme Court over to the RNC headquarters because they’re acting like a bunch of partisan operatives,” Raskin said.

The catalyst for Raskin’s fury was Trump lawyer D. John Sauer’s audacious argument suggesting that a president could commit heinous acts like ordering assassinations or staging coups with impunity. Raskin described the Supreme Court majority as “politicians” who answer to no one and suggesting they’ve abandoned any pretense of impartiality.

He singled out Justice Samuel Alito’s jaw-dropping question, hinting that democracy might be jeopardized if a former president faced criminal prosecution by a political adversary. Raskin didn’t hesitate to brand this notion as the “most astonishing” aspect of the hearing, condemning it as a dangerous validation of Trump’s delusional and criminal mindset.

Raskin reminded viewers of America’s historical stance that presidents are not above the law, citing precedents like Gerald Ford’s pardon of Nixon and Bill Clinton’s relinquishing of his law license. However, he blasted the current Supreme Court’s apparent willingness to cower before Trump’s authoritarianism, characterizing it as a spineless surrender to his dictatorial whims.

In no uncertain terms, Raskin called out the Supreme Court’s capitulation to Trump’s authoritarianism as a disturbing betrayal of American values, painting a picture of a judiciary spineless in the face of tyranny.
