Democratic Representative Ted Lieu, of California, called out House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Monday evening for threatening Attorney General Merrick Garland after the FBI executed a search warrant at Donald’s Trump Mar-A-Lago resort on behalf of the National Archives.

Trump took to his Truth Social network to announce that his “beautiful house” was “under siege, raided, and occupied” by the FBI.

To show his loyalty, McCarthy issued an ominous warning to Garland in a tweet, repeating the former president’s accusations that the DOJ had become politicized.

“When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned,” he said. “Attorney General Garland, preserve your documents and clear your calendar.”

Naturally, it didn’t take long for Twitter users to respond.

“Dear @GOPLeader: You say you’ve “seen enough.” Did you see the classified and unclassified documents that the FBI seized at Mar-a-Lago? No. So you have no idea what you are talking about. Stop making stuff up. You are the leader of the minority party. Do better,” Rep. Lieu wrote in response.
