MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell threw a fit on Friday and directed his company’s ad buyer to stop placing ads on Fox News after the conservative network refused to air his election conspiracy ads.
After the network reportedly declined to run ads for his upcoming cyber symposium pushing Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” of election fraud, Lindell pulled MyPillow ads from the network, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Lindell, one of the network’s largest advertising customers in recent years, told the Journal the commercial would not have specifically mentioned claims of election fraud, but he also reportedly said the symposium would back up former President Trump’s claims of a stolen election.
“MyPillow spent almost $50 million on Fox News last year and so far this year has shelled out about $19 million for ad time on the network, Mr. Lindell told The Journal.” “Maybe, Fox News doesn’t want the competition from FrankSpeech.com,” Lindell told the newspaper.
He then spoke directly to network bosses.
“I’m telling you, you Fox executives, you made a terrible, terrible decision today,” he said, pointing at the camera. “I hope it goes down in history as one of your worst [mistakes] you’ve ever made.”
“Shame on you Fox,” Lindell added.
