Five people were shot in Shreveport, Lousiana late Sunday evening in the third mass shooting in the U.S. in just 24 hours. One of the victims was shot in the head, police said, according to Reuters.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. local time while officers were nearby responding to traffic congestion and heard shots fired.
“We responded this evening to a traffic congestion and during that congestion, numerous shots were fired,” a police spokesperson said at a press conference.
It wasn’t clear Monday morning whether a suspect was in custody, or whether the shooting was believed to be isolated. The condition of the victims was not immediately known.
