At least four people are dead after a gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Nashville, local officials and witnesses say. The suspect is also dead.
The incident began just before 10:30 a.m. on Monday when officers were called for an active shooter at the Covenant School, a private Christian school that offers preschool through 6th grade, BNO News reported.
The shooter killed at least three and injured an unknown number of others before being killed by police, the report states.
The identities of neither the shooter nor the victims have yet been released and it is not known if those killed during the attack were students or faculty.
The Nashville Fire Department says it is treating multiple people who were shot during the incident.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
