Former Trump aide Sarah Matthews unleashed a scathing attack on Republicans who once criticized the ex-president only to cozy up to him again for their own gain.
During a recent segment of MSNBC’s “Inside With Jen Psaki,” Matthews didn’t hold back in her condemnation of former Trump White House Attorney General Bill Barr.
Barr had vocally criticized Trump after his defeat in the 2020 election and even resigned from his position in December 2020. However, his recent endorsement of Trump as the presumptive GOP nominee and his admission that he’d vote for the Republican ticket exposed his hypocrisy.
Matthews wasted no time in pointing out the glaring inconsistency in Barr’s stance by unearthing a quote that busted the former attorney general’s reason for backing the ex-president.

She reminded viewers of Barr’s stark warning from May 2023, where he cautioned against putting faith in Trump, stating, “You may want his policies, but Trump will not deliver Trump policies. He will deliver chaos and, if anything, lead to a backlash that will set his policies much further back than they otherwise would be.”
Matthews, who resigned from the Trump White House on the day of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, highlighted the irony of Barr’s sudden reversal, saying: “So, even if you want a conservative agenda, Trump is not the person who will deliver that.”
She then explained her decision to support Biden in the 2024 election. For her, there was simply no other choice.
