Despite a court-imposed gag order, former President Donald Trump launched another verbal assault, this time targeting New York Attorney General Letitia James. This outburst followed a previous incident where Trump earned the gag order due to an attack on the judge’s clerk, involving false claims and personal attacks.
Despite the specific restriction on discussing court staff, Trump proceeded to criticize James on his social media platform.
Accusing her of corruption without providing evidence, he claimed she was driving people out of New York. Trump also questioned the application of a specific statute in his case, asserting that it’s unprecedented and framed the legal proceedings as a “Witch Hunt,” alleging election interference and the onset of communism in the United States.
“Statute 63(12) is meant to be used for Consumer Fraud. It has never been used before on a “case” such as this, especially since I did absolutely nothing wrong,” he wrote. “I borrowed money, paid it back, in full, and got sued, years later, with a trial RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CAMPAIGN.”

He added: “I am not even entitled, under any circumstances, to a JURY. This Witch Hunt cannot be allowed to continue. It is Election Interference and the start of Communism right here in America!”
Despite being entitled to a jury trial, Trump’s legal team failed to request one, and he missed the deadline to do so.
The gag order’s limited scope focused on court staff, allowing Trump to continue his attacks on James from the perceived safety of either his plane or Florida home.
In a subsequent post on Truth Social, Trump continued his tirade against James, accusing her of unfairly devaluing his assets, particularly Mar-a-Lago, in what he labeled a “Fake case.” He further attacked James, alleging falsification of documents and attributing negative consequences, such as a recent murder in New York, to her presence in the courtroom.
“The Trial in NYC brought by the Racist A.G., Letitia James, who “convinced” the highly partisan Democrat Judge in charge of the case that Mar-a-Lago is only worth 18 Million Dollars, when it is worth 50 to 100 times that amount, should be dismissed in that Peekaboo and the Judge fraudulently reduced the value of Mar-a-Lago, and other assets, in order to make their FAKE case more viable,” Trump wrote.
“This is yet another Witch Hunt for purposes of Election Interference,” he continued. “Letitia is a Dirty Cop who is driving business out of New York in record numbers. She should be Impeached for falsification of documents, Mar-a-Lago value being a prime example. Another murder just took place in New York while she sits in a Courtroom and sleeps!!!”
While both James and the presiding judge, Arthur Engoron, have dismissed Trump’s personal attacks thus far, there is a looming possibility that these incidents could factor into prosecutors’ arguments for more extensive gag orders in his ongoing criminal cases.
