Donald Trump reportedly had an Oval Office temper tantrum after technical problems prevented him from joining a call with Canada’s prime minister, allegedly responding by launching a tablet across the room.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump became so frustrated by technical problems during a February 2025 call with then-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that he hurled a tablet across the Oval Office after it failed to connect.

The incident reportedly occurred just weeks into Trump’s second term while French President Emmanuel Macron was visiting the White House.

The two leaders were preparing to join a group call led by Trudeau when technical difficulties prevented Trump from participating.

Rather than waiting for the problem to be fixed, Trump allegedly lost his patience.

Citing an official who witnessed the exchange, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump threw the tablet over the Resolute Desk and onto the floor in frustration.

The alleged outburst was included in a broader report examining how America’s allies have navigated Trump’s return to the White House and the often unpredictable nature of his interactions with foreign leaders.

The account adds to a long list of reports describing Trump’s explosive reactions behind closed doors.

Former White House aides have previously described episodes involving shouted outbursts, profanity and objects being thrown when meetings or conversations didn’t go as planned. The Journal’s latest report suggests those incidents may have continued into his second term.

Neither the White House nor Trump immediately commented on the report.
