Trump Sues New York AG To Block Investigation Into His Company

Former President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) in an effort to block her civil probe into his business, CNN and The New York Times reported Monday.

According to CNN, Trump’s lawyers are asking for a federal court to halt or limit her office’s ongoing investigations, arguing that the investigation has violated his constitutional rights.

“Her mission is guided solely by political animus and a desire to harass, intimidate, and retaliate against a private citizen who she views as a political opponent,” Trump’s lawyers wrote in the complaint, according to The New York Times.

“The developments in the civil investigation come during a critical phase of a separate, criminal investigation into the former president being conducted by the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr.,” The Times noted.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
