Trump Mobile is taking heat online after a major blunder on its coverage map. The new phone brand, launched by Donald Trump’s sons and branded for “real Americans,” showed the “Gulf of Mexico” on its official map—despite Trump’s push earlier this year to rename it the “Gulf of America.” Social media didn’t miss a beat.

“The new Trump Mobile coverage map was released today. It features the Gulf of Mexico!” one user posted on X, sharing screenshots and video proof of the error.

Another added, “Trump family literally deleted an entire page off their grifting website because it showed Gulf of Mexico instead of Gulf of America.”

“Trump probably does not remember by now that he renamed it,” someone joked. Others piled on: “They keep forgetting their own b*******,” and “It will always be the Gulf of Mexico. This is culture war BS.”

The Trump-run site quickly yanked the map after the backlash, replacing the page with a “404 not found” message.

Back in January, Trump signed an executive order attempting to rename the Gulf. Despite public criticism, tech giants like Google and Apple quietly went along. But it seems even the Trump family couldn’t keep track.

Wired reported that the original Trump Mobile coverage map looked suspiciously like one used by Ultra Mobile, a network owned by T-Mobile.

Trump Mobile phones are set to sell for $499 starting in August. The company promises the devices will be made in the U.S., with American call centers and monthly plans priced at $47.45. But experts are skeptical the phones can be built domestically without driving up costs.

This phone launch follows Trump’s ongoing pressure campaign against companies like Apple to shift manufacturing to the U.S.—or face steep tariffs rolled out on what he’s calling “Liberation Day.”

For now, the only thing Trump Mobile is liberating is laughter.
