President-elect Donald Trump has blamed President Biden’s immigration policies for recent attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas, even though the suspects involved were U.S. citizens.

The first attack took place in New Orleans when a man drove a pickup truck into a crowd, killing at least 15 people. The driver, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, was identified as a U.S. citizen born and raised in Texas.

The second attack was in Las Vegas, where a firework explosion outside the Trump International Hotel caused chaos. Authorities say it was set off by mortars and camp fuel canisters. The suspect was later identified as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, a former Army veteran from Colorado.

Despite these details, Trump used the incidents to criticize Biden’s border policies, claiming that the rise in violent crime is a direct result of what he calls “open borders.” On his Truth Social account, Trump posted:

“With the Biden ‘Open Border’s Policy’ I said, many times during Rallies, and elsewhere, that Radical Islamic Terrorism, and other forms of violent crime, will become so bad in America that it will become hard to even imagine or believe.”

Trump also called out Biden’s administration for what he sees as weak leadership and blamed it for allowing crime to spread.

“Our country is a disaster, a laughing stock all over the World!”” Trump wrote. “This is what happens when you have OPEN BORDERS, with weak, ineffective, and virtually nonexistent leadership. The DOJ, FBI, and Democrat state and local prosecutors have not done their job,”

Trump ended his post by saying, “See you on January 20th,” referring to his upcoming inauguration.

Despite Trump’s claims, both suspects were born in the U.S.
