Corey DeAngelis, a controversial anti-LGBTQ+ figure and author, has been suspended from his role at the American Federation for Children amid shocking revelations of his involvement in gay adult films. The organization swiftly removed references to his work as it investigates claims that he performed under the alias “Seth Rose” on the adult film site GayHoopla around 2014.
DeAngelis, who gained notoriety for his book The Parent Revolution: Rescuing Your Kids from the Radicals Ruining Our Schools, has been a vocal critic of public education and LGBTQ rights, even earning an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. As reported by LGBTQ Nation, his advocacy for diverting taxpayer dollars to private for-profit schools has alarmed many, as these institutions can choose to reject students and operate without government oversight.
In a recent appearance on Fox News, DeAngelis bashed public schools for allegedly prioritizing LGBTQ+ issues over fundamental education.
“It’s just propaganda and a way for the left to control the minds of other people’s children,” he told the network, echoing the rhetoric of far-right conservatives. He also supported Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson’s claims that schools are indoctrinating students with “woke” ideologies.
As a senior fellow at several influential think tanks, including the Reason Foundation and the Cato Institute, DeAngelis has positioned himself as a leading voice in the school choice and anti-gay movement.
However, his recent revelations have prompted questions about his credibility and motivations.
Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of GLAAD, slammed DeAngelis, calling him a “sideshow charlatan” whose anti-LGBTQ+ extremism disqualifies him from any serious discourse on education. “His hypocrisy and attempts to profit from these controversies expose a dangerous agenda,” she stated. “The real threat is from the people who’ve propped him up and their Project 2025 blueprint for a government takeover that would demolish the Department of Education and refuse to recognize rising LGBTQ visibility and acceptance across society.”
The American Federation for Children’s decision to place DeAngelis on leave underscores the growing scrutiny faced by figures in the conservative movement, especially when their past actions come to light.
As of now, DeAngelis has not responded to the allegations, with an automatic email reply stating he is on “paternity leave.”
