Roger Stone, a longtime ally of Donald Trump, is calling for the execution of U.S. Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) after Kelly introduced legislation that would block Trump and other politicians from profiting off cryptocurrency.
In a post on X, Stone accused Kelly of treason and said he “should be charged with treason and if convicted executed, consistent with federal law.”
Stone’s outburst came after Kelly announced the End Crypto Corruption Act, a bill aimed at stopping the President, Vice President, lawmakers, and top officials from creating or promoting crypto assets for personal profit. The move comes as Trump ramps up his crypto activity — launching his own $TRUMP meme coin and offering private dinners to investors at his golf club.
“Trump is cashing in on his presidency and making millions from his own crypto coins. It’s corruption in broad daylight,” Kelly wrote on X Wednesday.
Kelly’s bill would make that kind of self-dealing illegal. “This bill puts forward a blanket prohibition on acts that could be self-serving in order to guard against conflicts of interest,” he said.
Stone fired back by accusing Kelly of having ties to China — without evidence — and said his actions amounted to treason.
“Senator Mark Kelly is cashing in on his US Senate seat as a partner in a Chinese communist company that makes surveillance balloons,” Stone claimed. “He should be charged with treason and if convicted executed.”

Gabrielle Giffords, Kelly’s wife and a former Congresswoman who survived a 2011 assassination attempt, condemned Stone’s rhetoric.
“Trump and his allies should understand that the threat of political violence is real,” she wrote. “It stole a job that I loved. Inciting violence is unAmerican — it’s what extremists do.”
She added, “Elon Musk called my husband @CaptMarkKelly a traitor. Yesterday, Roger Stone said he should be executed for treason.”

Instead of backing down, Stone doubled down.
“I said he should be TRIED and if convicted, of course the penalty for treason is capital punishment. But of course you left that part out. Typical left-wing distortion.!” he posted.
