In a striking display of irony, Donald Trump, notorious for his own photo-ops, unleashed a barrage of attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday, accusing her of staging a call with FEMA director Deanne Criswell, claiming it was yet another instance of political deceit.
“Another FAKE and STAGED photo from someone who has no clue what she is doing,” Trump posted. “You have to plug the cord into the phone for it to work! Biden and Harris abandoned Americans in Afghanistan, sacrificed lives for an open border, and now they’re letting Americans drown in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and beyond. Under this Administration, Americans always come last because we have ‘leaders’ who have no idea how to lead!”
His attack came in response to Harris sharing updates on the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene, detailing her conversations with North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper about ongoing rescue efforts. She reassured the public of the Administration’s commitment to support local communities.
While Trump was en route to Valdosta, Georgia, for a campaign rally in an area ravaged by the hurricane, social media erupted in backlash against his claims.
Critics were quick to point out the hypocrisy. “So rich that this guy is talking about photo ops when he’s headed down to Georgia to do just that,” one user remarked. Another added, “Damn, you’re desperate!”
The biting commentary didn’t stop there. “I know this imbecile isn’t talking about staged photos. Who can forget this asshole holding the Bible upside down?” one user shot back, referencing Trump’s infamous church photo-op.
As the backlash continued, another critic noted, “From the guy who turned Arlington Cemetery into a shameless photo op,” calling out Trump’s history of using solemn moments for political gain.
