Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz tried to claim that it was a fact that the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign. But that assertion was quickly shut down by former acting attorney general Sally Yates.
On Wednesday, Yates testified in front of the Senate over the investigation into Michael Flynn.
Cruz used his time to ask the following question: “When did you first become aware that the Obama administration was surveilling the Donald Trump campaign?”
Yates response left Cruz speechless: “The Obama administration was not surveilling the Donald Trump campaign.”
