Back in April, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden When warned that President Donald Trump would “try to kick back the election somehow.” The former Vice President’s concern was dismissed by pundits on Fox News and Fox Business as fearmongering and a conspiracy theory.
“What an idea, what a conjuring,” declared Fox Business host Lou Dobbs, a staunch Trump supporter, at the time.
They spoke too soon. Those same pundits were exposed on Thursday when Trump tweeted this baseless claim about mail-in voter fraud as a reason for possibly delaying the election.
“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???” he added.
The progressive watchdog group Media Matters for America brought the receipts for the TV personalities with this montage:
Here’s Trump’s tweet:
