‘So You Don’t Have a Plan’: Debate Moderator Calls Out Trump to His Face For Claiming He Has ‘Concepts of a Plan’ to Replace ObamaCare

Staff Writer

During Tuesday night’s debate, former President Donald Trump was called out by the moderator for his failure to present a real plan to replace ObamaCare. When pressed about his strategy for repealing the Affordable Care Act, Trump’s answers were revealed as empty rhetoric, devoid of substance or clarity.

“We are working on things. We’re going to do it. We’re going to replace it,” Trump declared, yet failed to provide any specifics. The moderator cut through the bluster with a pointed question: “So, just yes or no, you still do not have a plan?”

“I have concepts of a plan.” Trump said.

“You don’t have a plan,” the moderator replied.

Trump’s admission that he only has “concepts of a plan” but no concrete details was met with derision o social media. His continued promise to “replace” ObamaCare falls flat in light of his history of failed repeal efforts. In 2017, the GOP was on the brink of repealing the Affordable Care Act, but key Republicans like the late Sen. John McCain, along with Sens. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, thwarted the effort, preserving the law.

Now, even as Trump reiterates his desire to repeal the law, he has yet to present a viable replacement. “I have concepts of a plan,” he insisted, but offered no details or timeline.

Most Republicans in Congress have moved away from advocating for another repeal, even if they reclaim the White House and Senate. Meanwhile, Biden administration officials highlighted that nearly 50 million Americans have enrolled in ObamaCare plans since 2014, underscoring the program’s continued significance and Trump’s lack of a substantive alternative.
